Bus & Ferry:
Various companys offer overnight bus rides plus ferry service towards Koh Phangan.
Every serious travel agency should offer these packages. Expect prices starting from around 700 Thai Baht.
Should you travel to Koh Phangan from the mainland you will arrive in its port town Thong Sala.

Plane:
You can reach Koh Samui airport from various domestic destinations like Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Surat Thani Airport and more.
From Surat Thani and Koh Samui you can easily purchase ferry tickets to the neughboring island Koh Phangan.

You need a certificate for a conducted Emergency First Response Course not older than six months to enroll for a rescue diver course. Major parts of the course involve first aid, navigation and bouyoncy control.
